Solutions for Pickling Lines - April 2014
Share this newsletter

It’s expensive to shut down the production lines at a steel mill.  I mean really expensive.  So when we heard about a local mill having some troubles with acid eating away their steel tanks in the pickling line due to leakage we thought we could help.

Working with the outage team, Rick Blankenship (30 years with Belzona) came up with a procedure to repair these leaks in a short outage. It’s been over six years now that we have been patching leaks caused when the acid gets through the grout, behind the granite and eats away the rubber liner, then the steel tank.  We’ve been able to get these leaks stopped in pretty short order (a day or two)

Belzona 4181 (AHR Quartz) is being used to grout in the granite plates on the interior of the pickling lines.  Some of these applications have been in service for 2 years with no degradation of the material.

We have the solution for this application in your facility.  Please let us know how we can help you repair, protect and improve your facility’s component equipment.
